Looking at the current plot rate in Bangalore East and Bangalore South, the plot rate really looks cheap.

Not for the domestic software engineers. There is no point in holding so much money at a place where you don't even know if any company will exist in your remaining career of 10 to 15 years. The person who has not gained close to 10 years of exp doesn't have to even think about locking so much money.
Remember why the deal of Oracle moving to Brigade North Star got cancelled..... Software Engineers are already settled in the IT corridor ... from Bannerghatta road to Whitefield road..... they all refused to go there....
NRI's can definitely think of it for long term prospect. Now a days, I get a feeling that all the projects by top 10 builders are targeted towards them only. How many software engineers in India can afford to buy 2bhk of 45 Lacs to 50 Lacs? Add to it registration and wood work cost of minimum 5 lacs. How many of us can even afford it? The domestic software engineers have to set their sight on the next 10 builders which are not clearly visible.
