Alert - Home Loan

Have come across an interesting case and thought i will share it with you.

A friend of mine was considering a resale apartment in Kaggadaspura.

ICICI bank refused loan saying that it doesn't have BBMP or BDA approval.

Interestingly, the same bank (ICICI) has  given the loan to its existing owner in 2001. It had some village panchayat approval or something like that. The owner still has an outstanding loan amount and he is still paying to ICICI and documents are still with ICICI.

Can we trust ICICI Bank now?
Were they really loose in 2001/2002 time?

Please choose SBI where ever possible.

    There is no need to contact the bank as the person has already decided not to buy the property in case approvals is a concern. In fact, he is happy that ICICI can also catch such things.

    The only concern is how did the ICICI bank miss it 8 years back.

    SBI is also not trustable. I know a person facing same issue with SBI. Where the bank has approved housing loan in 2002 and they are not granting top-up loan saying the building is not approved. FYI., the person still paying monthly emi and has outstanding on SBI housing loan. Hence it's a big question even to trust India's national bank SBI!!!
