I myself have suffered twice in the past and nobody understands these things better than me..... once it was with the builder..... second time it was with the builder that acted as an agent to resale one of his existing property..... I had to use influence to get it back....I was successful though.

The only way to get your money back is to use influence or go to consumer court.... you just don't worry....the money will come back to you.... but don't sit idle.... The fee for consumer court is very less ... it is sub 1K.... and it shouldn't cost you more than 10K (including agent fees and commissions on the returned amount) even if you have to persist it for long duration....

Remember .... You must file consumer court case within 2 years....

One caution...builder never says no... but he doesn't give it... he will always say... next week.... next month .... next quarter.....but it never comes....

Don't wait.... just screw them...
